Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim allegedly questions two of his players over allegations regarding starting lineups being leaked on social media.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is allegedly being proactive in order to determine how some of his starting lineups have been leaked onto social media.

The Red Devils have just celebrated one of their most memorable Manchester derby victories in recent memory having dramatically overturned a deficit to overcome Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo each got on the scoresheet to move United within five points of their fifth-placed neighbours in the Premier League table.

However, not for the first time this season, United's first XI had been leaked by an unknown source on the previous night.

Two players questioned over leaks

According to The Sun, United and Amorim have launched an investigation into how the team news is making its way onto social media.

The report claims that Amad and Alejandro Garnacho have each been asked about any knowledge of the issue in recent days.

Garnacho's brother Roberto has previously been accused, a consequence of his sibling having been in and out of the team this season. He has since denied any involvement.

Alejandro, along with Marcus Rashford, were two notable absentees from the squad for Sunday's game at the Etihad Stadium.

Amorim is now reportedly of the opinion that Amad and Garnacho have had no direct involvement in the ongoing team leaks.

Is the issue likely to be a distraction?

As long as United continue on an upward trajectory under Amorim, there is the potential for the subject of team leaks to peter out.

Nevertheless, it will be of concern to the Portuguese that opposition managers stand to benefit on a regular basis if the problem is not solved.

Amorim has previously said: "I know that story, I think it is impossible to fix, you have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents, it is not a good thing."

Next up for United is a trip to face Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup quarter-finals before they play host to Bournemouth in the Premier League three days later.
