Manchester United have confirmed that Marouane Fellaini will be out for six weeks following wrist surgery.
The Belgian international midfielder last featured for the Red Devils on December 4 during their 1-0 defeat at home to former club Everton in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old had been playing with the problem since October, but United officials made the decision to delay the operation after consulting with Belgian medical staff.
Fellaini is expected to return to action in late February when the team resumes their Champions League campaign against Olympiacos in the last 16.
