Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has made light of a coin-throwing incident that left him with a cut eye in Sunday's derby against Manchester City.
Ferdinand appeared to be struck by an object from the crowd during United's 3-2 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
The 34-year-old tweeted: "Whoever threw that coin, what a shot! Can't believe it was a copper 2p....could have at least been a £1 coin!"
The Football Association have since confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
