Rio Ferdinand has congratulated Scott Parker following reports that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been handed the England captaincy for tonight's friendly against Holland.
Interim manager Stuart Pearce is believed to have selected Parker ahead of Steven Gerrard, James Milner and Joe Hart.
"Congrats to Scott Parker on being named captain for tonights game," Ferdinand wrote on Twitter. "A great honour + one I'm sure he'll cherish."
Parker will earn his 11th cap for the Three Lions this evening.
