Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he 'expects better' from Wayne Rooney following the club's 3-0 win over Bolton.
Rooney, 26, saw a first half penalty saved by Trotters keeper Adam Bogdan in the tie, meaning he has now missed four of his last eight spot kicks.
"Wayne had his moments but he can do better. I think missing the penalty kick maybe upset him a little bit. But it's a good punishment," Ferguson told The Daily Mail.
The England striker has scored 164 goals in 346 appearances for the Red Devils.
