Pep Guardiola to clarify Bayern Munich future "next week"

Pep Guardiola reveals that he is close to announcing whether he will remain the head coach of Bayern Munich beyond the end of the season.

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that an announcement will be made regarding his future "next week".

The 44-year-old's contract at the Allianz Arena is due to expire at the end of the season and as yet no extension to those terms has been agreed.

His services have been strongly linked with Manchester City, while Manchester United are also said to have recently upgraded their interest in the Spaniard.

Guardiola refused to be drawn on his future after his side's 1-0 win over Darmstadt in the DFB-Pokal last night, but he did reveal that "clarity" will be provided over the coming days.

"Tonight, I have no answer. Next week, you will know the answer. Next week there will be clarity," ARD quotes Guardiola as saying.

The former Barcelona boss took charge of the Bavarians in 2013 and has since guided the club to two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal, one UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA World Club Cup.
