Jose Mourinho: 'I will not retire at Manchester United'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says that he is a coach with 'ambitions and desires to do new things', as he looks beyond life at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that he does not intend to remain at Manchester United for the remainder of his coaching career as he has aspirations of managing elsewhere.

The 54-year-old recently suggested that he is willing to pen a new long-term contract at Old Trafford after winning two trophies during his maiden campaign.

Mourinho, who has managed seven different clubs during his 17 years in senior management, believes that replicating the quarter-century-long reign of Sir Alex Ferguson at United is an unrealistic prospect.

"The only thing I can say is that I am still a coach with worries, ambitions, desires to do new things," he told Telefoot. "I'm sure I will not finish my career here [in Manchester]."

Mourinho is approaching the halfway point of the three-year contract signed when replacing Louis van Gaal at the Theatre of Dreams in May 2016.
