Manchester United could reportedly decide to demolish Old Trafford in favour of a new stadium as part of plans to revamp their home ground.
The Red Devils have played their home matches at Old Trafford for 112 years since its opening in 1910, but the 75,000-seater stadium has not undergone any major work for several years now.
The Old Trafford capacity was expanded to 75,000 in 2006 in the last major refurbishment, with Chief Operating Officer Collette Roche recently confirming plans to modernise the ground at a fans forum.
According to The Guardian, United have considered the option of demolishing Old Trafford and building a brand new ground on the same site, but such a move is highly unlikely.
The report adds that fan backlash and concern over where the Red Devils would play their home matches while the new stadium is under development makes the idea unfeasible, and the club will continue to consult with their supporters before a final decision is made.
Man United are yet to lose a Premier League game at Old Trafford when winning at half time - winning 278 and drawing 23 such games after Saturday's 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
