Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that he has been left "happy" with Romelu Lukaku's move from Manchester United to Inter Milan.
Despite being just two years into a five-year contract, Lukaku was allowed to make the switch to San Siro earlier this summer.
The 26-year-old had managed to score 42 goals in all competitions during his time at Old Trafford, but national team manager Martinez feels that his number nine had become 'bored' at the Premier League giants.
Martinez is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "Romelu needed a new challenge. Sometimes you get bored of a club.
"Working with [Antonio] Conte will please him and the project of Inter, who will chase the title, is interesting. I saw Lukaku laugh again and it made me happy."
Lukaku made his competitive debut for Inter on Monday night, scoring in the 4-0 win over Lecce.
