Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has admitted that he needs to build on his early pre-season form if he is to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Pereira netted United's second goal in Saturday's friendly win over Wigan Athletic, and after failing to sufficiently impress previous boss Louis van Gaal, the Brazilian has acknowledged that he must continue to work hard ahead of the new campaign.
The 20-year-old told MUTV:: "I want to show the manager, to show the people around the club, to show the players that I can help this season. It's very important for me. I want to show this in training and just keep working hard.
"I'm very happy that I scored in this game, and yeah, it was not a bad strike at all. I can play in other positions but I enjoyed that role a lot."
Pereira has made just two starts and 11 substitute appearances since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2014.
