A report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is to extend his deal at Manchester United through to 2024, regardless of whether the Red Devils win any silverware this term.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to be awarded a new three-year contract worth £30m at the end of the season.

The 48-year-old replaced Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in December 2018 on an interim basis and took full-time charge three months later.

Solskjaer has had a mixed time of things in his 27 months at the helm, though he has ultimately failed to win any silverware during that time.

However, with United on course for a second-placed finish in the Premier League this term, and through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, The Mirror suggests that the Norwegian is to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

It is claimed that the contract offer will remain on the table even if United finish lower than second in the league and fail to win the Europa League.

Former Molde and Cardiff City boss Solskjaer was due to be out of contract at the end of next season.
