Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo would reject a transfer to Manchester City, according to a report.
The Sun reports that the Portuguese star would not entertain the notion of a move to the Premier League champions while Sir Alex Ferguson remains in charge at his former club Manchester United.
"Cristiano has always been close to Alex Ferguson and even now they still talk. Cristiano simply would not risk hurting him by joining Ferguson's immediate rivals," a source close to the player told the newspaper.
Speculation about Ronaldo's future arose earlier this week when the player allegedly admitted that he is not content with the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has since refuted reports that Ronaldo wishes to leave the club, claiming that there are other factors behind the player's unhappiness.
