Manchester United legend Paul Scholes claims that Paul Pogba can "do absolutely everything" and likens the Frenchman to Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has claimed that Paul Pogba boasts similar attributes to Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard.

Pogba's future has once again been the subject of much speculation ahead of the summer transfer window, despite the Frenchman being limited to only eight appearances across all competitions this season due to injury.

The 27-year-old has regularly been accused of failing to live up to his reputation and price tag since returning to Old Trafford in 2016, but Scholes is full of praise for him.

"I played a bit with Paul and everyone knows the talent he's got," Scholes told the Man United podcast.

"He's been brilliant for Juventus, brilliant for France in the World Cup and really good at times here [at United] as well.

"He can do everything as a midfield player and you'd probably liken him to Steven Gerrard with the pace, the power, the skill. He can do absolutely everything."

Scholes was coming to the end of his United career while Pogba was advancing through the ranks at the club, while he played alongside Gerrard at international level for England.
