Yaya Toure: 'Manchester United are not invincible'

Yaya Toure claims that Manchester United "are not invincible" ahead of the Manchester derby.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has insisted that rivals Manchester United "are not invincible" ahead of their showdown today.

The former Barcelona man has called on his teammates for a repeat of their FA Cup semi-final performance from last season, when the Citizens beat the Old Trafford outfit to progress to the final of the competition.

"This derby is very important because it could leave us five points clear of United and generate more pressure on our rivals," he said.

"Although a victory will not guarantee the title, it will be a significant blow and confirm that things will be different this campaign.

"Against United it is always a difficult match but they are not invincible. We demonstrated that in the FA Cup last season and that was not simply down to luck. Now it is necessary to repeat that."

City travel to Old Trafford to take on United in the first Manchester derby of the season this afternoon.
