Deadline day key events
Liverpool 'hold initial talks' over deal for Alexander-Arnold replacement

Liverpool have reportedly held initial discussions over a potential move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.
The Reds are set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold's services this summer after it recently emerged that he has agreed a deal to join Real Madrid this summer.
The England international has decided it is time to try a fresh challenge instead of extending his stay at his boyhood club.
As a result, Alexander-Arnold is widely expected to join the reigning European champions once his current Liverpool deal expires at the end of June.
Brentford star 'agrees' to commit future to Frank's side

Brentford captain Christian Norgaard has reportedly agreed to sign a new contract with the Bees.
Norgaard has made 187 competitive appearances since joining Brentford from Italian side Fiorentina in the summer of 2019.
The Dane helped the club win promotion via the Championship playoffs in 2020-21, while he was also part of the side that achieved a top-half Premier League finish in 2022-23.
Norgaard remains a key part of Thomas Frank's side, demonstrated by the fact he has been entrusted with the captain's armband.
Liverpool are the 'loose cannon' as Slot plots Man City transfer hijack

Manchester City will reportedly face competition from Liverpool to sign in-demand Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso during the summer transfer window.
Arne Slot's side are preparing for a changing of the guard at right-back, as they have allegedly failed in their mission to distract Trent Alexander-Arnold from the bright lights of Real Madrid.
The England international has reportedly decided to make the move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer at the end of the season, and his exit should trigger a wide-scale search for a replacement.
Conor Bradley is viewed as a capable deputy to Alexander-Arnold at this moment in time, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool deem him ready for the role of first-choice right-back.
Trent exit could be blessing as Liverpool 'closer than ever' to contract breakthrough

Liverpool have reportedly moved closer to reaching a major contract breakthrough in conversations with star forward Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt international is on course to enjoy the greatest individual Premier League season of all time as he continues to streak clear in the race for the Golden Boot and Playmaker Awards.
Salah has amassed an astounding 27 goals and 17 assists in 29 Premier League games this term, in spite of the constant uncertainty surrounding his contract situation at Anfield.
As things stand, the former Chelsea and Roma attacker is still able to leave for nothing at the end of the current season, and he has been free to hold pre-contract talks with foreign teams since January.
"Wherever I go" - Man United attacker drops huge hint over future

Antony has dropped a major hint regarding his future at Manchester United, with the attacker suggesting that he will not be returning to the 20-time English champions at the end of the campaign.
The Brazil international made the move to Real Betis on loan in January, and he has excelled for the La Liga club, scoring four goals and registering four assists in 11 appearances for the Seville outfit.
As it stands, Antony is due to return to Man United this summer, as the Green and Whites do not have the option to purchase him.
However, the 25-year-old has seemingly confirmed that he does not intend to return to Manchester, with the forward much happier with the lifestyle available to him and his family in Spain.
Serie A star 'emerges' as shock 'summer target' for Man United

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Udinese defender Oumar Solet during this summer's transfer window.
The 25-year-old's contract with RB Leipzig was terminated by mutual consent last September, and he went on to sign a pre-contract with Udinese, with his move being confirmed at the start of 2025.
Solet has made 10 appearances for his current side, providing one assist, and his performances have allegedly caught the attention of a number of clubs, having produced a string of strong displays.
According to Messaggero Veneto, Man United have been keeping a close eye on him, while there is also interest from West Ham United, with the two clubs potentially going head-to-head for his signature.
West Ham's Coufal confirms "great" Fulham offer, responds to Everton interest

West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal has opened up on transfer interest from fellow Premier League clubs Fulham and Everton.
The 32-year-old has spent almost five full seasons at the London Stadium and has made a total of 173 appearances across all competitions.
Coufal featured regularly under former boss David Moyes and was part of the Hammers side that won the Conference League in 2022-23.
However, Coufal has been limited to just eight starts and seven substitute outings in the Premier League this season and has fallen behind in-form Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was signed last summer from Manchester United.
Chelsea 'may consider' selling Newcastle, Aston Villa-linked England international

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are reportedly among a number of clubs keeping tabs on the situation of Noni Madueke at Chelsea.
The 23-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge from PSV Eindhoven for a reported £29.5m in January 2023 having previously spent time in the academies of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.
Madueke has since scored 17 goals and registered seven assists in 74 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, recording eight goals and seven assists in 28 games so far this season.
The five-cap England international, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has struggled for consistency with the Blues this term and his attitude in training has been questioned under head coach Enzo Maresca.
Mega money Mainoo: Man United 'set asking price' for wantaway midfielder

Manchester United have reportedly laid out their transfer demands for midfielder Kobbie Mainoo ahead of his possible exit from Old Trafford this summer.
The 19-year-old has been one of the shining lights in a difficult couple of years for the Red Devils, but a parting of the ways at the end of the season now looks increasingly likely.
Mainoo's contract at the Theatre of Dreams runs until 2027, and Man United have been working to tie him to an extension, but it has been reported that he will reject the chance to sign fresh terms in favour of a move elsewhere.
Inter Milan are supposedly the latest club to show an interest in a summer deal, and Man United are sure to be inundated with offers for Mainoo should it become clear that they will go their separate ways.
Chelsea alerted to 'bargain' transfer possibility to solve major Maresca problem

Chelsea and one other Premier League club have reportedly been alerted to the possibility of a cut-price deal for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer.
The Rossoneri have endured a miserable Serie A campaign under the wings of Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao, currently sitting ninth in the Serie A table with a six-point gap to the top four.
Milan also suffered a chastening Champions League playoff exit at the hands of Feyenoord, leaving the seven-time European champions at serious risk of missing out on continental football altogether next season.
Should the Rossoneri fail to make it into Europe for 2025-26, their finances will be heavily impacted, so the board will likely give the green light to a couple of high-profile exits this summer to help balance the books.
"Blatantly obvious" - Arsenal told Jorginho summer transfer is "a done deal"

Jorginho leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window is a "foregone conclusion", despite the Italian still having "plenty to offer" both on and off the field, expert Charles Watts has told Sports Mole.
The 33-year-old's Emirates deal officially runs out at the end of the season, and it has been claimed that he has already reached a pre-contract agreement to join Brazilian giants Flamengo this summer.
Jorginho was tight-lipped when asked about an imminent switch to Flamengo this month, although the South American club's sporting director has talked up his potential arrival following two-and-a-half seasons at the Emirates.
The former Chelsea man's deal does include the option for an additional 12 months, but Watts believes that his exit for Flamengo is as good as confirmed, saying: "Jorginho has been fantastic for Arsenal. A really, really good signing.
Chilwell lifts lid on Chelsea exile, reveals stance on training on his own

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has revealed that he has 'complete respect' for the decisions made by Enzo Maresca earlier in the season.
Having made just two appearances during pre-season, it quickly became apparent that Chilwell was not in the plans of the Italian for 2024-25.
As was the case with several unwanted players, the 28-year-old was banished from first-team training for a period until it materialised that he would not secure a transfer away from Stamford Bridge until January at the earliest.
Just one 45-minute outing against Barrow in the EFL Cup would be made during the first half of the campaign before the England international was allowed to kick-start his career on loan at Crystal Palace.
Barcelona suffer crushing blow in pursuit of key Newcastle midfielder

Barcelona have reportedly suffered a major blow in their pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Catalan giants have been tipped to bolster their options in the middle of the pitch amidst uncertainty over the long-term future of Frenkie de Jong, who is believed to be keen to stay at Camp Nou but is yet to extend his contract which expires in just over 12 months' time.
Hansi Flick's side, who currently sit top of La Liga, are understood to be giving consideration to approaching Tonali having now turned their attention away from Magpies teammate Bruno Guimaraes.
However, Football Insider claims that Newcastle will not entertain offers for the 24-year-old this summer despite growing interest in his services.
European powerhouse 'emerge as contenders' for Man United's Onana

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana during this summer's transfer window.
There is currently speculation surrounding the Cameroonian's future, with a number of clubs from the Saudi Pro League believed to be interested in securing his signature at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
Onana is allegedly happy at Old Trafford and not considering an exit, although that could change if the 20-time English champions make it clear that he is surplus to requirements at the club moving forward.
According to Fichajes, Onana has interest from a European powerhouse in the shape of Milan, with the San Siro giants viewing him as a potential replacement for Mike Maignan, should the France international move on this summer.
Huijsen alternative: Real Madrid 'considering swoop' for towering centre-back

Real Madrid have reportedly identified AC Milan centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic as a potential alternative to Dean Huijsen, should a summer move for the Bournemouth teenager fall through.
Los Blancos are planning to move for a new central defender during this summer's transfer window, and Huijsen, who has a £50m release clause in his Bournemouth contract, is believed to be the Spanish club's leading target.
The 19-year-old is also said to be on Liverpool's radar, though, and according to Fichajes, the reigning Spanish and European champions have identified as a potential alternative to the Spain international.
The report claims that Pavlovic has huge admirers among senior figures at Real Madrid, and he is viewed as an ideal player to boost the defence, should Huijsen prove to be out of reach in the upcoming market.
Amorim reunion: Man United 'eyeing £37.5m move' for Sporting star

Manchester United are reportedly considering making a summer move for Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio.
The 23-year-old has again been an important player for Sporting during the 2024-25 campaign, making 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering three assists in the process.
Inacio's future has been the subject of speculation for some time, with Liverpool thought to have a long-term interest in the Portugal international, who has a contract with the Green and Whites until June 2027.
Man United have also been linked with the defender, and according to A Bola, the 20-time English champions are weighing up a move during this summer's transfer window.
Premier League club 'may tempt' Liverpool into £30m Quansah sale

Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah is reportedly attracting interest from a Premier League club ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old centre-back broke into Liverpool's first team under former boss Jurgen Klopp last season, making his debut in August 2023, and he has since played 55 times across all competitions.
After making 33 appearances last season, Quansah has struggled for regular game time under new head coach Arne Slot this term, starting only 11 of his 22 games, including just two Premier League starts.
Quansah was handed his first start in over a month in Liverpool's EFL Cup final defeat to Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium prior to the international break and operated at right-back in the absence of the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Real Madrid 'willing to stump up fee' to sign Trent before Liverpool deal expires

Real Madrid have reportedly devised a plan to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold before his Liverpool contract expires at the end of June.
Alexander-Arnold's future at Anfield - along with that of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk - has been dominating the headlines for several months, with all three players in danger of leaving the Reds for free this summer.
Multiple reports claim that the 26-year-old is edging closer to joining Real Madrid, who are understood to have lodged an official offer to the right-back's camp and are optimistic about finalising a deal.
The Sun goes as far to say that Alexander-Arnold has already agreed to join Carlo Ancelotti's side and put pen to paper on a five-year contract worth £240,000 per week.
'Five players' that Foxes could target for Championship season after relegation

Leicester City could look to target five free agents in the summer transfer window due to the threat of breaching profit and sustainability (PSR) rules.
The Foxes' dismal season looks almost certain to end in relegation considering they are second last in 19th place in the Premier League with just 17 points, nine fewer than 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Though Wolves may drop a number of points in the final nine matches of the campaign, Leicester have only collected three points in their last 14 top-flight games, losing on 13 occasions.
To make matters worse, the club may not be able to strengthen as much as they would like in the summer in preparation for a promotion charge given they are reportedly close to breaching financial rules.
