Manchester United keeper David de Gea has reportedly agreed terms with Real Madrid over a proposed move to the Spanish capital.
The 24-year-old has been in inspired form for the Red Devils this campaign, leading to speculation that the current European champions could be tempted into breaking the bank to land his signature.
It has previously been suggested that the Spaniard would set Madrid back around £50m, although fresh reports in Spain claim that Los Blancos are happy to push ahead with a move.
Spanish publication Fichajes reports that De Gea has now signalled his intent to move to the Bernabeu this month, with a deal said to be edging closer.
The current record fee paid for a goalkeeper was the £33m splashed out by Juventus to sign Gianluigi Buffon from Parma in 2001.
