Real Madrid reportedly have no plans to launch a summer bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
Rumours emerged overnight claiming that the Spanish giants were considering a swoop for the England international.
It has been suggested that Madrid would be keen on bringing Rooney to the Bernabeu if United are successful in their pursuit of £37m-rated Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.
However, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has stated on Twitter that Madrid have "zero interest" in Rooney.
The striker was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, but United were able to keep hold of the forward.
