Barcelona are reportedly ready to sell Ronald Araujo this summer amid interest from both Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Barcelona are reportedly ready to sell Ronald Araujo during this summer's transfer window, with both Manchester United and Bayern Munich said to be interested in his signature.

The 25-year-old is regarded as a vital player for the Catalan outfit, and he has a contract at Camp Nou until the summer of 2026, but there has recently been speculation surrounding his future.

Araujo has confirmed that discussions over a new deal have started, with the Uruguay international revealing that he is "very happy" at the club amid the transfer talk.

"The truth is that it's going well. The club has started talks with my agents. We are thinking about these games and what remains of the season. And when the season is over, they will sit down and talk," Barca Universal quotes him as saying at the unveiling of his new book.

"The future is always talked about, and it will be like that every year, but I am very happy in Barcelona, my family is happy here. I show it on the field by giving my all, and I will fight until the end for Barcelona to return to what it has always been."

Man United, Bayern could move for Ronald Araujo

However, according to Sport, Barcelona are willing to listen to offers for the centre-back during the summer market due to their financial problems.

The report claims that Araujo is no longer considered to be 'untouchable or non-transferable', as the La Liga champions need to make a big sale this summer.

Barcelona are allegedly confident that they could sell the South American for a fee in excess of €100m (£86m) due to his standing in world football.

The emergence of Pau Cubarsi has reportedly made Barcelona comfortable when it comes to selling Araujo, with the youngster proving himself at first-team level in recent weeks.

Man United and Bayern are both believed to be huge admirers of Araujo, with the pair linked with his services earlier this year, but Barcelona were not prepared to discuss a January exit.

The South American has made 33 appearances for Barcelona during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring once, and he is in the squad for Sunday's El Clasico.

Araujo was sent off against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week, and he said that he was "sad" with what occurred in the second leg of the quarter-final, with the French champions winning 4-1 in Spain to secure their spot in the semi-finals at Barcelona's expense.

"I am sad, like all Barcelona fans, because of the red card. The shot was 50-50 and the referee made the decision. It hurts," Araujo added last week.

The defender made the move to Barcelona from Boston River in 2018, and he has represented the Catalan outfit on 146 occasions in all competitions, scoring eight goals and registering three assists in the process.
