Manchester United have reportedly made an enquiry to Juventus regarding the availability of midfielder Blaise Matuidi this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a midfielder after both Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera left Old Trafford over the last year.
Matuidi, whose current contract at Juventus expires next summer, has been mooted as a potential makeweight in a deal to bring Paul Pogba back to Turin.
According to Le Parisien, United and Everton have both made contact with Juventus over the Frenchman, who is valued at around £20m by The Old Lady.
Juventus are unlikely to entertain bids from either club this summer as they look to keep Matuidi until the final year of his contract.
United's attempts to secure a midfielder so far this summer have been halted by the club prioritising the sale of Romelu Lukaku and landing Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
