Manchester United are now not expected to move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly unlikely to bid for Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Harry Kane this summer, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy refusing to sanction a move to a Premier League rival.

The 29-year-old was in excellent form for his North London club during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 32 goals and registering five assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.

However, Spurs once again ended the season without a trophy, while their eighth-place finish in the Premier League means that there will be no European football at the club next season.

Kane will soon enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and there has been widespread speculation surrounding his future in recent months.

Man United are believed to have made the England captain their top target for the summer window, but according to Sky Sports News, the Red Devils are unlikely to submit a firm offer.

The report claims that Tottenham are not interested in selling Kane this summer despite his contract situation, and a move to a Premier League rival is seen as almost impossible.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in the Englishman, although it is unlikely that either would be willing to go close to £100m to sign him.

Man United are said to be wary of entering into a long transfer saga for Kane, similar to last summer, when they chased Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong for much of the window before eventually dropping their interest.

Manchester City also unsuccessfully pursued Kane in the summer of 2021, having at least two offers turned down, before switching their interest to Erling Braut Haaland in 2022.

Kane is Tottenham's all-time leading goalscorer with 280, and there have been suggestions that he is open to signing a new contract despite the London club's struggles.

Man United have also been heavily linked with Napoli's Victor Osimhen, although the Italian champions are believed to value the Nigeria international in excess of £120m.

A deal for Atalanta BC's Rasmus Hojlund looks more realistic, with the Denmark international potentially being brought in alongside a more experienced option.

Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani is another player to be linked with a switch to Old Trafford, in addition to Benfica's Goncalo Ramos, although the duo would also command huge fees.

Man United's main priority for the summer window is to bring in a number nine, but head coach Erik ten Hag is also said to want a centre-back and a central midfielder, while at least one goalkeeper is expected to arrive even if David de Gea signs a new deal.
