Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering the possibility of letting Scott McTominay leave the club on loan during the January transfer window.
Mourinho has often shown faith in McTominay during his reign so far, with the 21-year-old making 23 appearances across all competitions for United last season.
However, he has struggled to retain a place in the starting XI so far this season, making only four appearances and being deployed in an unfamiliar defensive role for his only two starts.
The Mirror reports that Mourinho is weighing up a loan deal for the Scotland international and believes that it could be a positive move for all parties.
There is likely to be no shortage of interest from Championship clubs for McTominay, with Aston Villa and Leeds United among the teams linked with a bid for the youngster during the summer.
Any deal would only be a six-month arrangement, though, with United set to reassess McTominay's role at the club after that rather than including an option to buy as part of the loan.
