Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish reveals that he will not prevent Nathaniel Clyne from joining Manchester United.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has insisted that he will not prevent full-back Nathaniel Clyne from joining Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with 20-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Despite admitting that he is yet to receive an offer for the defender, Parish has conceded that a number of clubs are likely to be monitoring Clyne's progression.

"We haven't agreed anything with anybody and we still have a contract offer on the table for Nathaniel," Parish told the London Evening Standard. "We have a good relationship with both him and his agent and I think he is enjoying his football here and can see the club are going forward.

"But if there is a deal to be done with Manchester United, it would be hard to stand in the kid's way. If our young players are to leave, then at least we want them to go onto something bigger and better - and Manchester United are who they are.

"If he keeps on playing as he is then I'm sure that a lot of teams will be interested in signing him but we are working together here and it's all positive at the moment."

Clyne joined the Eagles as a trainee in 2008.
