Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly close to penning a new contract at Manchester United, with the midfielder in line for a substantial pay rise to reflect his importance to the side.
The 19-year-old only penned a new deal with the 20-time English champions in February 2023, but since then, he has established himself as a vital player for Erik ten Hag's side.
There has not been a panic surrounding Mainoo's future due to the fact that his current terms are due to run until the summer of 2027, with the option of a further 12 months.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Mainoo is now close to signing a new contract at Old Trafford, which will see him receive a pay rise.
The report claims that Man United want to build their team around Mainoo, who is viewed as a vital part of the long-term project by new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Mainoo 'set to sign new Man United deal'
Mainoo made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in January 2023, and he ended the 2023-24 campaign with 32 appearances in all competitions, before representing England at Euro 2024.
The teenager has again been a vital player for Man United in the early stages of this season, making nine appearances in all competitions.
Mainoo picked up a slight injury in the latter stages of the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the end of September, which saw him miss out against Porto in the Europa League.
However, he was back in the side against Aston Villa last weekend, playing 85 minutes of what proved to be a goalless draw at Villa Park.
Mainoo pulled out of the England squad for their October internationals, but he is expected to be available for Man United's next match against Brentford after the international break.

How important is Mainoo for Man United?
Losing Mainoo would have been unthinkable for Man United, with the club needing to keep players of his ilk if they are to stand any chance of returning to former glories.
A lot is already being asked of Mainoo due to his quality and Man United's struggles, but the club must not put too much pressure on the Englishman, who is still in the very early stages of his career.
It has been a tough start to the 2024-25 campaign for the Red Devils, who are currently down in 14th spot in the Premier League table, but a new deal for Mainoo would be a major boost for the club when they need it the most.
