Morecambe sign former Accrington Stanley striker Padraig Amond on a two-year contract.

Morecambe have completed the signing of former Accrington Stanley striker Padraig Amond on a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old, who left Stanley at the end of last season, could make his debut in Morecambe's league clash with Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

"Padraig is a good player who impressed me while at Accrington last year and I have been impressed with him this summer," Morecambe boss Jim Bentley told the club's official website.

"He is a great lad to have around the place and has good experience at League 2 level and he has all the attributed needed to become a big player for us."

A number of League Two clubs had also been linked with his signature this summer.
