Newcastle United fans want face-to-face meeting with owner Mike Ashley

A Newcastle United supporters' group calls for owner Mike Ashley to attend their next meeting to discuss the club's crisis.

A Newcastle United supporters' group has called for owner Mike Ashley to attend their next meeting amid the ongoing crisis at St James' Park.

Numerous Magpies fans have expressed their discontent at the club's recent form under interim manager John Carver, who will keep his job until the end of the season.

The North-East outfit are lingering dangerously close to relegation from the Premier League as they are currently just two points above the drop after losing their last eight games.

NUFC Fans' Forum, who represent 35,000 season-ticket holders, have released an open letter calling for Ashley to discuss the club's predicament in their next gathering.

"We feel strongly that we would like Mike Ashley to be present at our next meeting," The Express quotes the fan group as saying.

"It's clear that Mike has been consistently against this, but we feel that isn't too much to ask. We also feel that it may help NUFC in the long run. It is something that many of our fans want."

Newcastle have three games left to play this season.
