Daryl Janmaat: 'Rafael Benitez can keep Newcastle United in Premier League'

Newcastle United full-back Daryl Janmaat is confident that Rafael Benitez is the right man to keep the club in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat has said that he is confident in Rafael Benitez's ability to keep the club in the Premier League this season.

The Magpies currently sit 19th in the table, three points adrift of 17th-placed Norwich City ahead of a clash with the Canaries at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Benitez has managed just one point from two games in charge of the club so far, but Janmaat believes that the former Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss is the right man to take them away from danger.

"We have a top-class manager now. We have to believe he can get us to stay in the Premier League," he told reporters.

"He has had a positive effect. It has been organised, the way we played at Leicester and against Sunderland. We have to keep doing that and looking up.

"We feel we can stay in the Premier League, but know we need more wins. We hope and we have the confidence. We must still believe and go out looking to get the job done. I think we can do it."

Newcastle will travel to Carrow Road having lost each of their last seven away league games.
