The European Championship could be expanded as a competitor for the World Cup by inviting teams outside Europe to compete, according to a report.
The Independent claims that a revamp for the continental tournament would see sides from other continents invited to take part.
Indeed, the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Japan and Mexico would be given the opportunity to play at Euro 2020, which itself is likely to be staged across the breadth of the continent.
A senior adviser to UEFA president Michel Platini told the publication that plans were at an early stage but were "very feasible", and suggested that were was no reason why Europe could not copy South America's showpiece Copa America in inviting teams.
England has expressed an interest in staging the semi-finals and final of the proposed pan-Euro tournament in 2020.
