Chris Hughton: 'Ricky van Wolfswinkel will start against Fulham'

Chris Hughton admits that he intends to use a number of squad players against Fulham in the FA Cup.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has confirmed that striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be handed a start in the FA Cup game against Fulham at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Hughton said that he intends to put out a team capable of beating Fulham but would like to use a number of his squad players following the busy Christmas period.

"It is an opportunity to use the squad, but with the main objective still of making sure that we go through," Hughton told the club's official website. "It's a nice distraction. It's a cup competition that everybody looks forward to. We are playing against a good opposition which makes the task tougher, but we are at home.

"There isn't anybody that doesn't enjoy the feel of the FA Cup. We have had a lot of games in a short period of time, so let's hope it's a good distraction. Ricky will start, which is something we're really pleased about. He's been close in recent games, and has come on and got minutes. It's a good opportunity for him to start from scratch."

The two sides played in the league on Boxing Day, with Fulham ending up 2-1 winners.
