Norwich City manager Alex Neil has admitted that he feels as though he has let the supporters down following the team's relegation to the Championship.
The Canaries' fate was sealed on Wednesday evening despite coming from behind to earn a 4-2 victory over Watford at Carrow Road.
Norwich's relegation campaign was not in their hands as they needed Sunderland to lose to Everton, but it was not to be as Sam Allardyce's side claimed a 3-0 triumph at the Stadium of Light.
"We left it too late," Neil told the club's media. "In games gone we had opportunities and didn't take them. It's been a season of too many errors.
"Over the course of the season we didn't perform as well as we'd have liked. We've all fallen a bit short. Ultimately the burden lays with me. The support at the end was very humbling. I feel as though I've let them down."
Newcastle United have also been relegated to the Championship this evening.
