Russell Martin pleased with "scintillating" Norwich City

Norwich City skipper Russell Martin says that his side played some "scintillating" football against Sunderland.

Norwich City defender Russell Martin has insisted that his side fully deserved their 3-1 win over Sunderland this afternoon.

Martin gave the Canaries the lead after 26 minutes, before further strikes from Steven Whittaker and Nathan Redmond gave them a three-goal advantage.

Norwich lost to Crystal Palace last weekend, but Martin is adamant that their season is now up and running.

He told the club's official "It's very satisfying because of the way we went about imposing ourselves on the game.

"We got exactly what we deserved as some of our play at the front was scintillating. Last week we played well and didn't quite get the warranted result, but today we certainly have.

"There were a lot of good individual performances, and collectively as a team it's paid off. We've set a high standard now, with the three points giving us a great base to start from."

Norwich host Stoke City next weekend.
