Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has revealed that the club made "substantial bids" for Celtic striker Gary Hooper.
The Canaries chased Hooper on deadline day and are believed to have put in four bids for the forward.
It is thought that Norwich made a final bid of £9.4m for the 25-year-old, but that was rejected by the Scottish side.
"We put substantial bids in," said Hughton.
"But he is a Celtic player and it is clear from their valuation that they did not want to sell."
Hooper moved to the SPL side from Scunthorpe for £2.4m in 2010.
