Porto captain Danilo taken to hospital

Porto captain Danilo is in hospital but is not seriously injured after being forced off in a neck brace following an accidental clash with teammate Fabiano.

Porto captain Danilo has been taken to hospital as a precaution after being forced off early on in the team's win over Basel in the Champions League this evening.

The defender was treated on the pitch for several minutes in the first half of the 4-0 win before being stretchered off in a neck brace, after teammate Fabiano rushed out to clear the ball and accidentally caught the centre-back.

The team confirmed on Twitter that Danilo is being kept in hospital as a precaution, but that he has not suffered a serious injury.

Danilo scored the team's goal in the 1-1 draw in the first leg of the tie.
