Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has been linked with a surprise move to French club Marseille.
Barton's future at Loftus Road was thrown into doubt again on Thursday night after it was revealed that he had not been given a squad number for the new Premier League season.
The 29-year-old could now be on his way to the Ligue 1 side on a season-long loan deal with Stephane Mbia coming the other way, according to Sky Sports News.
Barton had recently been training with League Two outfit Fleetwood Town.
