Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese scored a hat-trick to send Los Blancos into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The Spanish outfit entered the second leg of their European Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night trailing 2-0 to Wolfsburg following their surprise defeat at the Volkswagen Arena last week.
However, a hat-trick from Ronaldo at the Bernabeu saw the 10-time European Cup winners make the final four of the competition for the sixth successive season.
Zidane also praised the "intensity" of his players and branded the result his "best night as coach".
"What can I say about Cristiano Ronaldo? He has showed again he is the best player in the world. He is a special player," Zidane told reporters.
"What we had to do today was to show intensity, but also use our heads. My message, above all, was to have patience. I am very happy, and very proud of all they did tonight.
"It was a special night, we have achieved what we were looking for. The players came from 2-0 down. So it was my best night as a coach, so far, for sure."
Real Madrid have been joined in the semi-finals by Manchester City, who beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 on aggregate.
