Real Madrid vs. Real Valladolid: Head-to-head record and past meetings

Ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Valladolid, Sports Mole looks at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two clubs.

Real Madrid will be aiming to post their first victory of the 2024-25 La Liga campaign when they welcome Real Valladolid to Bernabeu on Sunday afternoon.

Los Blancos were held to a 1-1 draw by Mallorca in their season opener last weekend, while newly-promoted Valladolid started their campaign with a 1-0 home success over Espanyol.

Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between Real Madrid and Real Valladolid ahead of their contest on Sunday.

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 107
Real Madrid wins: 69
Draws: 22
Valladolid wins: 16

Unsurprisingly, this has been a fixture dominated by Real Madrid throughout history, with the capital giants winning 69 of their 107 matches with Valladolid in all competitions, suffering just 16 defeats in the process.

Two legendary former Real Madrid strikers particularly enjoyed playing in this fixture, with Raul scoring 18 times against Valladolid during his time at Bernabeu, while Alfredo Di Stefano found the back of the net on 17 occasions.

Real Madrid are currently on a five-game winning run against Valladolid, including a 6-0 victory when the two teams last met at Bernabeu in April 2023; Karim Benzema registered a hat-trick in that contest, while Rodrygo, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez were also on the scoresheet.

Los Blancos have won 13 of the last 15 league meetings between the two sides, with Valladolid last triumphing in this fixture back in November 2008.

Not since May 2000 have Valladolid managed to beat Real Madrid at Bernabeu in La Liga, with their last two successes over the capital giants coming front of their own fans.

These two teams have locked horns on 92 occasions in La Liga, with Real Madrid leading the head-to-head record 60 wins to Valladolid's 14, while there have also been 18 draws.

Real Madrid have not actually conceded a single goal in their last five league games with Valladolid, which is a further indication of the size of the away team's task in this contest.

That said, three of the capital outfit's last five wins over Valladolid have been by a single goal, while Valladolid picked up a point when they visited Bernabeu in the league in April 2019.

Real Madrid were unbeaten in 19 La Liga home games during the 2023-24 campaign, and they will be the overwhelming favourites to collect all three points this weekend, but Valladolid will certainly have been boosted by their 1-0 success over Espanyol in the opening game week of the 2024-25 La Liga campaign.
