Carlo Ancelotti: 'James Rodriguez needs time to adapt'

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says that summer signing James Rodriguez must be given the time "to adapt to his new life".

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that James Rodriguez must be given the time to adapt to his new surroundings in the Spanish capital.

The Colombian made a big-money move to Madrid from Monaco this summer and big things are expected of the attacker in his first season.

However, Ancelotti has called for caution as the former Porto winger settles in at the Bernabeu.

"James needs to adapt to his new life, his new teammates," Ancelotti told reporters.

Madrid face Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Tuesday.
