David Beckham and Gareth Bale have paid tribute to Iker Casillas after the long-serving goalkeeper called time on his 25-year Real Madrid spell this weekend.
The 34-year-old sealed a move to Porto on Saturday, before breaking down in tears as he struggled to read a statement during an emotional press conference this morning.
Casillas's teammates of the past and present have offered their sentiments on the Spain captain, with Bale taking to Twitter.
"Been an absolute honour playing alongside @CasillasWorld the past 2 years. A true legend of the game and I wish you all the luck my friend!"
Beckham, who shared a dressing room with him for four years, added his thoughts on Instagram, alongside a picture of a warm embrace between the pair.
"What more can be said about this man.... I'm sad to see Iker leave a club that he adored and gave everything too for so many years.
"He is a friend an amazing person and one of the best goalkeepers in the history of the game .. A true @realmadrid legend... Gracias Amigo @ikercasillasoficial."
Casillas made 725 senior appearances for the club.
