Johan Cruyff believes that Real Madrid have made the right decision in appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their coach.

Former Netherlands international Johan Cruyff has insisted that Real Madrid have made the right decision in picking Carlo Ancelotti to replace Jose Mourinho as their coach.

The Italian was confirmed as Real's new boss on Tuesday and Cruyff believes that Ancelotti has the ability to control the egos in the team's dressing room.

"Ancelotti will be a breath of fresh air," Cruyff told Marca. "Real Madrid have great players, they just need to play like a team. Ancelotti will make that happen.

"He has played and coached at the very top, so he knows fully well what goes on in the dressing room."

Laurent Blanc was announced as Ancelotti's successor at Paris Saint-Germain.
