Cesc Fabregas backs Barcelona to "win the double"

Cesc Fabregas believes that Barcelona will go on to win the La Liga title and Copa del Rey this season, despite their recent slump in form.

Barcelona will win La Liga and the Copa del Rey this season, according to the club's ex-midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Catalans appeared to be cruising to the title a fortnight ago, but three defeats in a row has seen the chasing pack from the capital significantly close the gap.

Atletico Madrid are now level on points with table-topping Barca, while Real Madrid are a point further back.

Nevertheless, Chelsea playmaker Fabregas is confident that his former teammates will still be celebrating come the end of the season.

"I think they will win the league. They have the easiest run and there is a few tough games for Real Madrid and Atletico," he told Sky Sports News.

"I believe they will win the double, but they cannot allow any more mistakes."

Barca, who face Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final in May, are next in action this Wednesday when they travel to Deportivo La Coruna.
