Bayern Munich defender David Alaba emerges as a summer transfer target for Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are both reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

The 27-year-old has made 372 appearances for Bayern since debuting in 2010, including 28 outings in all competitions during the 2019-20 campaign.

The Austria international will see his current deal at the Allianz Arena expire next summer, though, and Chelsea have recently been credited with an interest in his services.

According to Bild, the defender is not convinced that he wants to extend his deal at Bayern, and both Barca and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on developments ahead of potential summer bids.

Alaba has primarily operated as a left-back throughout his career but has played in central defence on a number of occasions this season due to his team's injury problems in that area of the field.

The Austrian recently hinted that he would be open to a move to the Premier League.
