Derby County to loan Real Madrid midfielder?

Derby County are reportedly close to signing Real Madrid midfielder Omar Mascarell on loan for the entire 2014-15 campaign.

Derby County boss Steve McClaren has reportedly moved for Real Madrid midfielder Omar Mascarell.

The Rams have suffered a major injury blow during pre-season after new signing George Thorne was ruled out for nine months with a serious knee injury, but it appears as though the Championship side are moving fast to secure a replacement.

According to BBC Radio Derby, the East Midlands outfit are in advanced talks to sign Mascarell on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old, who has progressed through the academy at the Bernabeu, made his first-team debut at the end of the last campaign.
