Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly agrees to delay negotiations on a new contract with Real Madrid until the end of the current season.

Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to delay negotiations on a new contract with Real Madrid until the end of the current season, according to a report.

The 32-year-old has recently added a fifth Ballon d'Or to his trophy cabinet, as well as helping Los Blancos to a second Club World Cup in a row.

Although Ronaldo only signed a new five-year deal last November, the player's future at the Bernabeu remains subject of speculation.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldo is seeking a salary on par with Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Paris Saint Germain's Neymar.

The report goes on to claim that Real president Florentino Perez has spoken to the Portuguese attacker and an agreement has been made to postpone negotiations until June.

Ronaldo has scored 422 goals and registered 127 assists in 415 appearances for Real since his 2009 move from Manchester United.
