Marseille have leapfrogged Rennes in the Ligue 1 table with a 2-1 win at Route de Lorient.
The hosts took the lead after 15 minutes when Tongo Hamed Doumbia was able to fire in past Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
Lucho Gonzalez shot wide for the visitors before unsuccessful attempts fell to Rennes duo Victor Montano and Jires Kembo-Ekoko.
Kembo-Ekoko was wayward with two more opportunities before Marseille grabbed an equaliser just before half time when Onyekachi Apam headed a Loic Remy's cross into his own net.
Gonzalez had his drive from 10 yards deflected over just after the break, while Remy planted his header wide.
The visitors took the lead with 13 minutes to play thanks to Benoit Cheyrou's strike, which bounced in after the goalkeeper Abdoulaye Diallo had got his palm to it.
Marseille are now fifth in the table, nine points off leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
