Edy Reja believes that his Lazio team are "on track" after a 2-1 win over Roma completed the double over their neighbours.
The 66-year-old manager attempted to resign just over a week ago following a disagreement with Director of Sport Igli Tare.
His resignation was rejected and he now seems to have put the episode behind him.
Speaking after the game to Football Italia, Reja said: "There was an exchange of opinions with the directors and then we sorted it out.
"I realise it doesn't happen every day that a Coach resigns when in third place, but I was coming off the 5-1 defeat to Palermo and was a little tense, so reacted that way.
"Our ambition was to improve what we did last season, which wasn't easy, but the club worked well on the transfer market and we're on track."
Lazio's win meant that they completed the Serie A double over their city rivals for the first time in 15 years.
