Report: Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder to snub Sunderland

Report: Chris Wilder to snub Sunderland
A report suggests that Chris Wilder, who is the current favourite to take over at Sunderland, will agree fresh terms with Sheffield United this week.

Chris Wilder is reportedly on the brink of signing a new contract at Bramall Lane, ending Sunderland's hopes of landing the Sheffield United manager.

The 50-year-old is the bookies' favourite to replace Chris Coleman the Stadium of Light once Stewart Donald completes his takeover within the next week.

Rather than drop down a division to League One, however, Wilder and his coaching staff are now expected to commit their long-term futures to the Blades by imminently agreeing fresh terms.

Sky Sports News reports that a solution has been found to keep the former Oxford United boss happy following a dispute over the club's ownership, with face-to-face talks being held this week.

Wilder guided United to a 10th-place finish in their first season back in the second tier this season.
