Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has ruled out a January move for Galatasaray's Wesley Sneijder on the grounds that the club could not afford to meet his wage demands.
The Dutchman said that he was interested in signing his compatriot, but admitted that the Saints' financial limitations would prevent an agreement from being reached.
"I am interested," FourFourTwo quotes Koeman as saying. "But we can't pay him. I know that because his agent is my agent."
Previous reports suggest that several other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Sneijder, whose Galatasaray contract expires in the summer of 2016.
