Ruben Amorim expects Tottenham Hospur to respond in second leg

Ruben Amorim warns Benfica to expect a response from Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Europa League tie.

Ruben Amorim has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur are not yet finished in the Europa League despite a 3-1 victory for Benfica at White Hart Lane on Thursday.

Benfica took a big step towards reaching the quarter-finals thanks to an impressive away performance, but Amorim believes that Tim Sherwood's side can produce a similar display in the second half of the tie in Portugal.

"It is still a dangerous result for us," the 29-year-old told SIC .

"Tottenham have some great players who have the quality to do in the return what we did here at White Hart Lane.

"It is very important in knockout games to score in away matches."

Benfica meet Spurs in the second leg next Thursday.
