Benoit Assou-Ekotto targets top four finish

Benoit Assou-Ekotto believes that Spurs' midfield is the key to their aim of a top four finish.

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto has targeted a return to the Champions League as the club eye a top-four finish this season.

Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League table and are in an excellent run of form, having won nine out of their last ten games.

The Cameroonian has praised the side's attack-minded midfielders and has backed them to lead the London club to a Champions League place.

"To say we have the best midfield might be a bit pretentious but I think we are the strongest in our attacking style," he told The Mirror.

"Not many teams have really quick wingers like Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale and a player like Luka Modric and a guy like Scott Parker, who runs for three men.

"To finish in the top four, everyone would be happy. There will be the light of the Champions League."

Assou-Ekotto is expected to feature when Spurs host Bolton at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
