Tottenham Hotspur forward Clint Dempsey has hit out at former club Fulham by claiming that they did not 'appreciate' him enough.
The USA international moved to White Hart Lane on the final day of the summer transfer window after five seasons at Craven Cottage.
"I'm not trying to open up that door to all those things that went on but the fans were great to me, the chairman was great to me," the Daily Mail quotes Dempsey as saying.
"It got to the point where I wanted to try to further my career. If you always felt valued and appreciated enough, I don't think you'd ever leave, but it came to a point for me where I didn't feel valued and appreciated. Not by the fans, but by other situations. That's just the way things went."
Liverpool were also in the running to sign Dempsey in the summer but failed in their attempts hours before the close of the window.
