Zeki Fryers has revealed that he is excited by the prospect of playing matches again after returning to training with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 21-year-old defender is enjoying the methods of new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who replaced Tim Sherwood in May, but he has admitted that he is eager to begin appearing in friendlies as he looks to become a regular in the side under the Argentine.
"Training's going well, it's been good and I like the set-up. It's been hard, sharp, but that's positive," Fryers told the club's official website. "Pre-season is always hard but all the lads are doing well.
"We have all come back fresh and it's good to see everyone again. It was a nice break but we're all ready to put in the work now and get back into things.
"I can't wait for the games to come – hopefully I'll feature in some. We'll just have to see how things go."
Spurs will visit Seattle, Toronto and Chicago in their pre-season tour of North America.
